Robert was born on September 20, 1969 in El Paso, Texas to Antonio Orona Sr. and Dora Meza Orona. He was a graduate of Lovington High School and on April 21, 1990 he married Janell Dean in El Paso, Texas. He left El Paso, and continued to live and work in Roswell for the past 16 years. He worked for the City of Roswell as a groundskeeper for the local parks.
Robert was of the Catholic faith, and was active in
the Roswell Softball League, Lions Hondo Little League Baseball, and RHS Booster
Club. He enjoyed sports and his children. He coached a lot of kids in
town.
His survivors include his wife, Janell Orona; his sons,
Robert P. Orona Jr., Ryan M. Orona, Jordan N. Orona, and Jacob A. Orona all of Roswell;
his parents: Antonio Orona Sr. and Dora Meza Orona; brothers, Antonio Orona Jr.,
Texas, and Fernando Orona both of El Paso, Texas; his sisters, Janet Lopez of El
Paso, Texas, Carol Woods of Mesa, Arizona, Teresa Gil of El Paso, Texas, and Cynthia
Pacheco of Arlington, Texas. Other survivors include 21 nieces and nephews,
and 4 great nieces.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
